Since August, I’ve been working on a Cultural Studies research project about the rising population of International students at the U of I, studied for and took the GRE, and went to Cape Town, South Africa. All of these opportunities have been amazing (maybe not the GRE), but working with students through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as a volunteer staff has been one of the most fulfilling.
For the next couple of months, I will be leading this group of amazing students (above)! Starting from the left is Liz, Anna, Thomas, Cameron, Darren, and me. I address these guys as “Team” in the countless emails I send them. We will be serving in ISR, a dorm on U of I’s campus, through Bible Study, community building, and evangelism!
I am so privileged to be serving along side this amazing team of students as we partner with each other and with God while ministering to 600 or so students living in ISR!
Our team has been finding encouragement through these three verses in Ephesians Chapter 3:
7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. 8 Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, 9 and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
Keep us in your prayers!
